COLD OPEN:
EXT. BETHINGLAX PARK- NIGHT
(in captions) Bethinglax city. Bethinglax park.
The park was as deserted looking as ever, crumpled newspapers overflowed from trash bins, littering the patchy grass, rain still lay in the dips from the night before. Most of the streetlamps that lined the cracked pavement had burned out.
IZZY (18) a girl with bright, engaging, blue eyes, and dirty-blond waves of hair, strolled along the path way, following a row of dimly light lamps.
She was soon lead to a fork in the road. She bit her lip decidedly, glancing down each path way.
IZZY
(under her breath) What the heck. I've got nowhere to be.
She ventured down the left lane.
As IZZY walked she came across a great, iron gate, flanked by clumps of bushes that slightly obscured it. It stood tall and menacing. Beyond the gate was just visible, IZZY could see a drive that lead up to a worn and forgotten building. IZZY'S face light up. She curiously peeked through the ivy choked, rusting bars of the gate. The felling of puzzlement, and recognition swept over IZZY. IZZY looked around to be sure no one was watching, then quickly she scaled the gate, rattling the chains has she lifted herself over.
CUT TO:
A door swings open, revealing IZZY standing on the doorstep of the deserted building, her flashlight in hand. IZZY stepped slowly into the room which seemed to be the lobby. IZZY'S eyes followed the circle of light that shone from the flashlight, it swept over tables and chairs that had been knocked over, paper was peeling from the walls, scuffed and cracked tiles. IZZY'S eyes took in everything. You could see the wonder and longing in her eyes.
IZZY made her way through the rooms, some had more knocked over chairs or tables, others were left bare. She soon came to a rather large room, unlike the others this room was full of furniture, and to IZZY'S great pleasure documents.
IZZY dropped her satchel and hurried over to the drawers full of folders, stuffed with papers.
IZZY
Jackpot!
She pulled out a random file and sat down against the nearest wall her bag beside her. She began reading.
